We have the pleasure of introducing Europe’s finest mature white wine from right at the very centre of Europe. This is one of the oldest wine regions in the world. Wine grapes have been grown here for more than five thousand years. Archaeologists have found fossilized grape leaves here.
It spreads out in today’s Hungary on the Northeast end of the country, named the Tokay Wine Region that has in it twenty-seven wine grape growing villages. Since 1251 there have been written histories about the high quality of the wine growing in this area. In Easter of the 1631 the Tokay Aszu wine has been presented to Than Monarch’s wife. It was an instant success in the royal circles. And ever since the same quality of Tokay wine always improves by the age.
This wine is not the usual white wine. This is meant to be for serious wine lovers. It is to be appreciated as is. It’s classy, it’s strong, and it will last in bottle 25-30 years. Cellars well. It’s ten Years old now.
The Monarchs of Europe have named this nectar “The Wine of the Kings and the King of the Wines”. “VINUM REGUM – REX VINORIM”.
